Magnitude 5.6 quake jolts Southern Mindanao

DAVAO CITY –— A magnitude 5.6 earthquake of tectonic origin hit several provinces in southern Mindanao at 4:23 Monday afternoon, August 15, 2022.

The Philippine Institution of Volcanology and Seismology reported the epicenter with 5.6Depth = 006 km with exact location at 06.84°N, 125.09°E – 011 km N 36° W of Magsaysay (Davao Del Sur).

As of press time, no damage was reported yet.

The earthquake was felt in the provinces of Davao del Sur, South Cotabato, Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat, North Cotabato, Davao del Norte, Davao de Oro, Bukidnon . Lanao del Sur, Lanao del Norte, the BARMM, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental and other provinces nearby.

The Phivolcs warned of possible aftershocks.
