Magnitude 6 earthquake jolts some parts of Southern Mindanao

DAVAO CITY — A magnitude 6.0 earthquake hit some parts of Southern Mindanao at around 11:30 in the evening on March 26, with epicenter traced at Maasim towm in Saranggani province.

In its latest earthquake bulletin, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the earthquake was tectonic in origin.

and recorded at 05.66°N, 125.04°E – 022 km S 09° E of Maasim (Sarangani)

The following areas felt the earthquake:

Intensity V – General Santos City
Intencity IV – Koronadal City


Instrumental Intensities:
Intensity VI – General Santos City
Intensity V – Tupi, South Cotabato; Malungon, Alabel & Kiamba, Sarangani
Intensity IV – Koronadal City
Intensity I – Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental

The movement was also felt in Davao City.
