Maguindanao mayor arrested over murder raps

DAVAO CITY — The town mayor of Pandag in Maguindanao province who is facing two counts of murder was arrested inside a hotel here yesterday at around 4:15 in the afternoon.

The elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) arrested Khaddafe “Toy” Mangudadatu who is currently serving as the mayor of the said town.

Mangudadatu is facing to counts of murder which was filed in 2010, over the death of couple Abdulah Kanapia Ligawan and Lala S. Ligawan on October 7, 2010, at Purok 6, Brgy. Sinakulay, President Quirino, Sultan Kudarat.

The arrested was in accordance with the warrant of arrest issued by Judge Samina Sampaco Macabando-Usman, the presiding judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 20 of Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat on September 9, 2022.

After his arrest, the CIDG and other operatives brought Mangudadatu to Davao Doctors Hospital for medical check up after he complained difficulty in breathing.

The arrest of Mangudadatu was made possible in coordination with Davao City Police Office, ,CIDG-XI,RIU,PIU,SK PPO,PS 2 DCPO, Davao CMFC and Davao CIU.-Marvin Revilla
