Maguindanao mayor succumbs to cancer

DAVAO CITY — Residents of Sultan sa Barongis town in Maguindanao mourns the sudden death of their Mayor Ramdatu Angas due to liver cancer.

Angas expired in his home in Barangay Poblacion, of Sultan sa Barongis, on Sunday, September 8. He was 52.

Messages of love and support for their late mayor piled up on the official Facebook page of the town “We love you very much, Mayor Ramdatu Angas.”

“On behalf of the League of Municipalities of Maguindanao, we deeply mourn the death of our colleagues, Datu Ramdatu Angas, mayor of the municipality of Sultan sa Barongis, Maguindanao,” said Mayor Zamzamin Ampatuan of Rajah Buayan town, also in Maguindanao.

As provided by law, Sultan sa Barongis Vice Mayor Al-Fizzar M. Angas, the mayor’s uncle, will assume succeed Angas.-ezc
