DAVAO CITY, Philippines—There was no intent to embarrass the president, says Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella.
The clarification was issued after a Malacañan staff accidentally placed the presidential seal upside down at the rostrum during the 11th Ambassador’s Tour Reception here Friday night.
In a statement, Abella stressed “An error was committed in the installation of the Presidential seal at an event in Davao City yesterday (Friday). There was, however, no attempt to embarrass the President.”
Abella said the concerned offices already have apologized following the incident and renewed the shared commitment to uphold the highest standard of service and support for the President and all his engagements.
Abella also said “appropriate measures have been taken against those responsible.”
A staff of the Presidential Communications Operations Office posted
“A careful study determined the incident as an act of omission. Appropriate measures have been taken against those responsible.”
The statement reportedly from PCOO stated “All Offices involved in presidential visits and coverage have, upon meticulous review, instituted procedures to prevent the occurrence of a similar incident.”
“All Offices concerned sincerely apologize for the incident and renewed the shared commitment to uphold the highest standard of service and support for the President and all his engagements,” the statement added.-/Newsline.ph
