ILIGAN CITY – A bloodied body of a male nurse was found in a room of a lodging house in Valencia City, Bukidnon province on Monday.

The body was identified as that of Soriano Pagunsan Moreno by Randney Rosal, a barangay councilman, and owner of the house in the city where the victim stayed.

Valencia City chief of police Lt. Col. Cipriano Bazar said Moreno sustained multiple stab wounds.

Moreno, 35, a native of Bayog town, Zamboanga del Sur, rented a house in Valencia City and worked as a nurse at the Bukidnon Provincial Hospital in nearby Kalilangan town.

Bazar said based on the account of an unnamed cashier of the lodging house, Moreno checked in around 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 3, and informed the front desk that two male companions would join him.

A few moments later, two unidentified men joined Moreno in his room.

On Monday at about  8 a.m., wondering why his guest had not checked out, the cashier decided to open the room and found Moreno naked, bloodied, and already dead.

Bazar said police investigators found a bloodied yellow shirt, silver necklace, and gold earrings near the body of the victim.

The two companions of the victim were no longer there and his motorcycle was nowhere to be found in the parking area of the lodging house.

Bazar said that before Moreno left the house on Sunday, he told Rosal the name of the person that he would meet. – Divina M. Suson/NewsLine.ph
