Marawi classes suspended due to Falcon

MARAWI CITY (July 16) — The city government of Marawi earlier today ordered the suspension of classes at all levels cue to Tropical Depession Falcon.

This, after the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) recommended the suspension due to inclement weather and continuous heavy rains.

Marawi City Mayor Majul Gandamra confirmed “Yes, kanina 7 am I declared the suspension of classes on elementary and high school. However, government offices are still in operation except in cases where areas are submerged with flood waters.”

Gandamra said there has no official report of damages forwarded to his office but the DRRM Council will convene anytime today to make the necessary assessment and action.-Divina Suson/NewsLine.ph
