KORONADAL CITY (October 20) — A vigilant courier in General Santos City on Friday foiled the shipment of suspected dried marijuana to Agusan del Sur and Palawan after surrendering two suspicious parcels to police.

Arnold Ardiente, regional director of the Police Regional Office-Soccsksargen, said the courier reported to Police Station 3 after noticing a strong odor coming from the packages.

The parcels were sent by a certain “Edmar” of Barangay Labangal, GenSan and addressed to “Ralph” of Bunawan, Agusan del Sur, and “Ash” of Palawan.

“That was a noble move on the part of the courier,” Ardiente said, commending the prompt action that prevented the illegal drugs from being transported to other regions.

Authorities are conducting follow-up operations to trace the identities of those behind the shipment.
