Maring washes ashore GenSan fishing vessel

DAVAO CITY — A fishing vessel with marking FB Leeward GenSan City was ashore the coastlines Barangay Tibanban in the municipality of Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental on Sunday night as gustiness and strong winds of Tropical Depression Maring hit the shorelines of Davao Oriental.

The Davao Oriental Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office-Operation Center reported no damage on the vessel,

The DavOr Facebook page stated that the Philippine Coast Guard immediately responded as residents reported an oil spill which was later ruled out.

Meanwhile some 24 houses were partially damaged in the municipalities of San Isidro and Governor Generoso, affecting 769 families, mostly residing along the coastal areas.

The provincial government advised the residents to temporarily leave their house overnight as threat of possible surge was reported but most of the residents went home early Monday, October11.
