Mati, Davao, and Davao Schools dominate Indak-Indak sa Kadayawan 2025

DAVAO CITY (August 18) – The Balangay City High Performing Arts of Mati City, Davao Oriental successfully defended its crown in the open category of Indak-Indak sa Kadayawan 2025, while Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School–Mana Performing Arts Ensemble topped the school-based category.

In the open category, Sindac Anib Performing Ensemble of Bislig City placed second, followed by Columbio Performing Arts Guild of Sultan Kudarat in third. Special awards went to Mati’s Balangay group (Best in Music, Best in Street Dancing) and Bislig’s Sindac Anib (Best in Artistic Design, Best in Choreography).

In the school-based category, Dranhs-Mana Performing Arts Ensemble also swept the special awards, including Best in Music, Choreography, Artistic Design, and Street Dance. Sta. Ana National High School placed third, Catalunan Pequeño NHS fourth, and Teofilo V. Fernandez NHS fifth.

Both champions received ₱1 million, plaques, and 150 medals, while runners-up took home ₱500,000 to ₱200,000, plus consolation prizes.

Meanwhile, in the Pamulak sa Kadayawan floral float parade, IPI won the big float (₱800,000 prize), while Alorica Davao topped the small float category (₱500,000 prize).

Acting Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte graced the celebration, thanking security forces and reminding tourists to observe city ordinances for a safe and clean festival. Senators Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa and Christopher “Bong” Go, along with Rep. Omar Vincent Duterte, urged the public to continue praying for former President Rodrigo Duterte.

This year’s Pamulak and Indak-Indak were held together on August 17, drawing thousands of spectators who witnessed the colorful display of culture, artistry, and unity.
