Med rep arrested with illegal drugs, guns in Zamboanga

ZAMBOANGA CITY — A medical representative yielded some PHP50,000 worth of illegal drugs and two illegal firearms when arrested in a law enforcement operation in this southern port city, a police official said Thursday.

Chief Insp. Arlan Delumpines, Police Station 7 chief, identified the suspect as Dionysus Cabrera, 34, who was arrested through a search warrant around 5:30 a.m. Thursday in Sunrise Village, Barangay Guiwan.

Delumpines said they confiscated from the suspect’s possession the following: some PHP50,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in seven heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets; one KG9 and one K3 machine pistols with ammunition and accessories; improvised tooter; and 15 live ammunition and six spent shells of .45-caliber pistol.

He said the search warrant for violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, issued by a regional court here was served by a joint team of policemen from the Police Station 7 and 904th Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion-9. -PNA
