Cagayan de Oro (October 3)–  The Province of Misamis Oriental offers an experiential learning tour dubbed as, immersion tours to the delegates of the 2018 Association of Tourism  Officers of the Philippines (ATOP) 19th National Convention, that will be held in this city from October 3 to 6.

Arwin Paul Lingat, the chairperson of the ATOP Convention, said that the term “Immersion tours” will be a different thing than the typical tours that any person can avail from tour operators. Highlighting the community is the top priority on this tour, which will not be left behind in the tourism effort.

“Unlike the normal tours, if you ride a bus, there will be a tour guide, but the tours that the Province of Misamis Oriental prepared for all the delegates will be an experiential one,” Lingat said.  “They will go into some pottery making, pasalubong products maker; they will see how their pasalubong products were produced and they will go to a bibingka maker,  ” he added.

Misamis Oriental Governor Yevgeny Vicente “Bambi” Emano said the convention will enable more economic activities in the communities.  It is also envisioned to make Misamis Oriental known not only locally, but also at the international level.

Misamis Oriental will host an estimated 1,000 to 1,500 delegates all over the country.  Security has been ensured for the benefit of the public and the delegates, as well.- Hensell Hebaya/ NewsLine
