CEBU CITY, Philippines – — Lawyer Jamaal James, the chief of staff of 6th District Representative Jonas Cortes posted a thank you message in his Facebook page after he reunited with his wife, Wednesday morning.

“I would like to sincerely thank everyone of the 4,500 people who shared the post I made earlier when my wife disappeared. Your show of support is overwhelming. I am a worrier and its my fault it has escalated but the circumstances warranted that I do everything in my capacity to find the love of my life. I would like to think that any man who loves his woman and vice-versa would have done the same,” Jamaal stated in his post.

Lawyer Sarah Cabrera Calipayan, 33, was reported by her husband Tuesday night before the Cebu City Police Office’s hotline 166 and traffic group.

Police said Sarah was out drinking because she said she “suffered anxiety and depression.” She checked in a hotel nearby while she parked her car in the parking area of a nearby business center.

In his post Wednesday, Jamaal stated: “Since I was the one who went public with this, I hope whatever criticism shall be thrown my way for whatever inconvenience it has caused you. Please do not blame my wife. She’s been through enough and she could use a little positivity rather than trolling from any of us.”

“We are seeking a respite from the public eye as we settle this matter between us. Nothing of this was done intentionally so I hope you will help us get the privacy we once had as a couple.” Jamaal added. -Paul Allegre/Newsline.ph
