COTABATO CITY (December 28)  – Rural families in several Bangsamoro communities are set to benefit from new livelihood assistance after the Ministry of Labor and Employment in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MOLE-BARMM) provided seed capital to eight community-based organizations.

Ministry of Labor and Employment – BARMM Minister Muslimin Sema said the support aims to strengthen small enterprises and help households build more stable income sources.

The assistance was released under the Bangsamoro Rural Employment through Entrepreneurial Development (BREED) program during a recent ceremony at the MOLE regional office.

Beneficiary groups—composed of farmers, women, and youth—are engaged in food production in the municipalities of Datu Odin Sinsuat, Talitay, Guindulungan, Shariff Saydona Mustapha, and South Upi.

Each association received PHP50,000 to improve production, develop products, and create additional income opportunities for members and their families.

The livelihood program is supported by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) as part of broader efforts to promote food security, rural jobs, and inclusive growth in the Bangsamoro region.
