ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — A mother gave birth to a beautiful baby boy while traversing the waters of Zamboanga Peninsula Sunday morning, September 17.
Norsima Madain, 18, from the village of Bato, Lamitan City thought she was not due yet, a reason she traveled to Zamboanga City onboard MV Stephanie Marie.
The crew of the vessel and well-meaning passengers helped Norsima while she was experiencing labor pains until she gave birth to a healthy baby girl.
They put up an improvised folding bed for a delivery table and an emergency mobile “birthing clinic”.
The baby is named Steffan as Norsima claimed she will always remember giving birth while aboard MV Stephanie Marie.
Following belief, passengers and crew of the vessel rejoiced as they believe unexpected birth gives “Blessing” to the owner of the facility.
True enough, the management of the sea craft vowed to take care of all expenses of Norsima and baby Steffan.– Richard G. Falcatan/Newsline.ph
