Cagayan de Oro (October 8)–  The Manny V. Pangilinan Sports Foundation (MVPSF) and Association of Boxing Alliances of the Philippines (ABAP) donated P1,000,000 worth of cash and boxing equipment to the Cagayan de Oro City boxing team.

The CDO Boxing Team, received Boxing Gloves, Heavy Bags, Boxing Hand Wraps, Boxing Shoes, Punch Mitts, Sparring Headgear, Mouth Guard, and Boxing Body Protector.

Arturo T. Aro, MVPSF Program Director, said that it was last year when the city Mayor Oscar “Oca” Moreno, asked for assistance.   “When we were here last time, there was no paint on the walls, and your boxing gloves were torn.” Aro pointed out.

Head Coach, Elmer Pamisa, said that they are very thankful that the equipment had already arrived.  “These equipment are badly needed by the boxers,  and we did not even expect this much, that’s why I am very happy because we are not the old underdog team when we are inside the ring.” Pamira, said.

The CDO Boxing Gym is set to be transferred in Bgy. Lumbia, next year to provide young aspiring boxers the proper atmosphere for training.- Hensell Hebaya/ NewsLine
