DAVAO CITY, Philippines — Maricel Agustin, the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) who was reported  missing  since 2014 is now safe and on her way home.

The Newsline.Ph reported her case to Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello II  Monday night February 26.

This morning, February 27, 2018,  Bello notified this news agency that  Agustin was already located and  on her way home.

A check with The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration(OWWA) Davao and the MMML recruitment agency revealed, Agustin is still in OWWA Pasay and will be  flying  to Davao City anytime after the documentation process is completed.

Agustin’s husband, Rogelio Padilla earlier reported her missing wife as she failed to contact her since late 2014.

Bello, citing POLO Kuwait report,  stated that Agustin failed to communicate to her family because “She did not have a mobile phone.”

The POLO Kuwait in a report to  Bello said  that Maricel was among the repatriated OFW from Kuwait.

Citing the POLO Kuwait report, Bello in a message to Newsline.Ph stated “DW Maricel Viernes Agustiin- was repatriated last February 24, 2018 according to the FRA, when they saw the FB post they called the employer.”

Agustin’s husband  Rogelio, was so happy when Newsline.ph informed him Maricel is safe and on her way home.

Rochelle Padilla, daughter of Agustin told Newsline.ph this morning “I missed my mother and I want to see her, we lost contact for four years.”

Rochelle recalled happy conversation with her mom in 2013. That was the last.”  -Editha Z. Caduaya/Newsline.ph
