NIA worker, daughter survive slay try in Maguindanao del Sur

Unidentified gunmen ambushed an employee of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) and his daughter on Monday morning in Barangay Labu-Labu, Datu Hoffer, Maguindanao del Sur.

Initial police report disclosed that Ismael Gudal was driving his white sports utility  vehicle (SUV) when they were ambushed near the Labu-Labu bridge a few meters away from a Philippine Army checkpoint at about 6:30 a.m.

The victim, a worker of the Kabulnan River Irrigation System in Shariff Aguak town, also of Maguindanao del Sur, was bringing his daughter to a school in Esperanza, Sultan Kudarat province.

The name of Gudal’s daughter was not readily available.

Both Gudal and his daughter remained unscathed during the ambush.

Datu Hoffer police chief, Capt. Ramillo Serame said the ambush incident is still under investigation.
