Nograles is the new Cabinet Secretary

DAVAO CITY (November 5)— First District Congressman Karlo Nograles has been named the new Cabinet Secretary to replace Leoncio ‘Jun’ Evasco  who resigned last October.

Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo during the Palace press briefing on Monday,  revealed Nograles is expected to take his oath before President Rodrigo Duterte anytime today.

Nograles is currently the chairperson of the powerful  Committee on Finance at the House of Representatives.

Panelo said  the young Nograles enjoys the “Trust and confidence” of the President.

Now on his third and final term as Congressman, Nograles earlier planned to seek a Senate seat but on October 3 he announced he would instead help Mindanao candidates.

Nograles is a nephew   of Duterte by affinity. His  mother–Elizabeth Bendigo Nograles  is  Duterte’s first  cousin.  His father Prospero was elected  House Speaker in February 2008.  He ran for Mayor in 2010 but  lost Sara Duterte.

Prospero  Nograles was the longest  political rival  of  President Rodrigo Duterte here is Davao City,  until they kissed and made during Karlo’s birthday party in 2016..
