CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (October 30) — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has appointed Misamis Occidental Governor Henry S. Oaminal as Chairperson of the Regional Development Council (RDC)–Region X for the 2025–2028 term, citing his leadership in governance, peacebuilding, and regional collaboration.

Oaminal thanked President Marcos for the trust, vowing to continue pursuing inclusive growth across Northern Mindanao. “Padayon ta sa pagkugi — this time, not only for Asenso Misamis Occidental, but for Asenso Northern Mindanao,” he said.

As RDC Chair, Oaminal will lead efforts to align the region’s priorities with the Philippine Development Plan, focusing on infrastructure expansion, peace and order, and sustainable economic growth across Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Oriental, and Misamis Occidental.

Under Oaminal’s leadership, Misamis Occidental recorded a 66.49% rise in locally sourced income, earned first-class province status, and was declared insurgency-free in 2024, a milestone recognized by the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).

His appointment positions Misamis Occidental’s peace-driven development model as a template for Northern Mindanao’s continued progress.
