Over 1K police were deployed in Northern Mindanao for COC Filing

DAVAO CITY – Over a thousand police officers were deployed across Northern Mindanao to ensure peace and order as the filing of the certificate of candidacy started on Tuesday, October 1.

The Police Regional Office 10  has deployed 1,152 police personnel to secure the communities in an effort of enhanced security measures aimed at creating a safe and orderly environment as political aspirants submit their candidacies.

A total of 384 personnel will be stationed at Police Assistance Desks (PADs) in strategic locations where COC filings are taking place. Additionally, 768 Quick Reaction Team (QRT) personnel will be on standby throughout the region, ready to respond swiftly to any incidents or security concerns that may arise during the COC filing period.

Police BGen Jaysen de Guzman, Acting Regional Director of PRO10, emphasized the importance of maintaining a secure atmosphere during the election process. “The filing of COC marks the beginning of the election season, and we must maintain peace and order to protect the integrity of this democratic process. Our personnel are fully prepared to ensure that the public and all candidates can exercise their rights safely,” he stated.
