P2-M ecstasy, weeds declared as gift and toys intercepted at NAIA

DAVAO CITY — The Bureau of Customs-Port of NAIA turned over on Monday, June 29, 2020 to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) an estimated Php 2 million worth of ecstasy tablets, raw Ecstacy and marijuana seized by Customs officers.

The 500 tablets of ecstasy from Germany were discovered hidden inside different parcels.

The raw Ecstacy from the Netherlands was declared as a “gift”, while the marijuana from Great Britain was declared as “adult toys”.

For 2020 alone, the Port of NAIA has conducted 25 drug bust operations. Since 2018, the port has recorded 86 drug busts operations actively protecting the country from illegal drugs even during this pandemic.

The BOC NAIA will continue to be vigilant and support the directive of the BOC Commissioner to guard the national borders.-Newsline
