P340K shabu seized from suspected drug peddler in Tawi-tawi

DAVAO CITY —– Police authorities in the municipality of Bongao in Tawi-tawi province arrested a suspected drug peddler carrying P340,000.00 worth ‘shabu’ .

In a report, Police Brig. Gen. Prexy Tanggawohn did not revealed the identity of the drug peddler who was caught with at least more or less 50 grams of illegal drugs was arrested after concerned citizens tipped the police of the illegal drugs activity in Barangay Simandagit, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi on April 3, 2024.

The arrest was made by the joint operatives from Bongao Municipal Police Station together with Tawi-Tawi Provincial Mobile Force Company, 1405th Regional Mobile Force Company, RMFB 14-B, and the 1st Special Operations Unit, Maritime Group.

The suspect, along with the evidence, was brought to Bongao police station for booking, documentation, and proper disposition.

The suspect will be charged for R.A. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Tanggawohn commended the police operatives for their quickly response saying the successful operation was a result of police and community collaboration in the fight against illegal drugs trade.
