DAVAO CITY (March 7) — More than P500,000 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu was seized Thursday by operatives of the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) from two suspected drug pushers at the port area of the city.

Zamboanga Police information officer Capt. Shellamie Chang said 14 small packs of shabu with an estimated value of P557,000 were recovered from the possession of Roger Bakil and Jeanelyn Sinining.

The two suspects, Chang said, were arrested by members of Police Station 6’s Drug Enforcement Unit past 7 am.

Bakil and Sinining reportedly just arrived in Zamboanga from Jolo, Sulu when they were arrested.

Chang said the suspects were not aware that they were delivering drugs to an undercover policeman.

Meanwhile in Sarangani province, five alleged notorious drug pushers aboard a sports utility vehicle were nabbed past 8 p.m. Wednesday at a checkpoint in front of the Municipal Hall of Malapatan town.

The suspects were identified as Tato Mundas Mamalangkas, 29; Sabri Abas Salipada, 28; Nashif Esmael Mudas, 22; Habib Bacularan Saligan, 21; and 18-year-old Jay-ar Suray Esmael.

The five suspects yielded 13 sachets of shabu during the arrest and are now detained at the Malapatan Police Station. –jap with reports from PNA
