PAF allots P15.7-M for repair of attack chopper

September 16, 2019 by NewsLine Philippines

MANILA — The Philippine Air Force (PAF), is allocating the sum of PHP15.745 million for the acquisition of spare parts needed for the repair and maintenance of one of the eight AgustaWestland (now Leonardo) AW-109 attack helicopters in its service.

Parts are intended for the AgustaWestland attack helicopter with tail number 820, according to the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) bulletin posted at the Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System.

Deadline for the submission of bids and its opening is slated for September 30, 9:15 a.m. at the PAF Procurement Center Conference Room in Villamor Air Base, Pasay City.

“Prospective bidders should have an experience in (a) similar project within the last five years,” said PAF BAC chair, Brig. Gen. Carlo Bueno N. Buena, in the bid bulletin.

The first two PAF attack AW-109s were commissioned on August 17, 2015 while the remaining six were formally accepted for service on December 5 of that same year.

The Philippines signed an eight-unit attack AW-109E order with AgustaWestland in 2013 for PHP3.44 billion. PNA
