Pagadian flights resume after runway rehabilitation

DAVAO CITY — The commercial operations of the Pagadian Airport resumed on May 16.

Edwin Luching, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines area center manager in Pagadian Airport said the resumption of the operations followed after the completion of runway rehabilitation.

The emergency repair on the runway, which involved repairing 34 concrete blocks, was completed ahead of schedule, originally set for May 15.

”The complete works were finished on April 24, and after the 14-day curing process, the Notice to Airmen was lifted on May 13,” Luching said in a press statement.

The airport was closed on April 15 which affected 120 affected flights.

The resumption also marked the rehabilitation of airport facilities which included the improvements to the comfort rooms at the Passenger Terminal Building.-EZC
