PDEA XI uproots P2.1-M worth of Marijuana in DavOr

DAVAO CITY  (March 17) —- Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency XI on Saturday uprooted 10,500 hills or P2.1 million worth of marijuana in the hinterlands of Pagkawian, Barangay Tubaon, Tarragona, Davao Oriental.

Antonio Rivera, regional director of PDEA XI said, Vincent Adjadan Lintuan and Romel Basog Adjadan who are both considered high-value targets tried to evade but were caught by the operatives.

The suspects are now detained at PDEA holding facility in Davao Oriental.

But Rivera said, two other suspects, Merlindo Malintad and Gil Sugaan were able to elude arrest.

The uprooted marijuana were immediately destroyed and burned.

The joint operation was participated by PDEA-11 Seaport Interdiction Unit, the Tarragona police, Regional Mobile Force Battalion in Davao Oriental provincial force company, and provincial Intelligence Division.

The suspects will be charged for for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2000.-JAP/NewsLIne.ph
