Pinoy surfer kampyon sa Int’l Surfing Cup

BUTUAN CITY — Filipino professional surfer John Mark Tokong ang nahimong kampyon sa bag-o lang nga nahuman nga 25th Siargao International Surfing Cup sa Cloud 9, lungsod sa General Luna, niadtong Octobre 4 ngadto sa 9.

Si Tokong nga mas ilado isip “Marama” usa ka taga Siargao Island og mipildi ni Noah Beschen, usa ka Hawaiian professional surfer atol sa Heat 1 sa final round niadtong Miyerkules.

Mi skor si Tokong og 9.00 sa Wave 1 yf 7.60 points sa Wave 2 ug may total score nga 16.80 points kontra kang Beschen 8.15 points sa Wave 1 ug 8.60 sa Wave 2 o total score nga 16.75 points.

Sa 21 ka mga Pinoy surfers nga mi apil sa kompetisyon, si Tokong lang ang naka-abot sa  quarterfinal round, diin iyang gipildi ang Indonesian surfer Oney Anwar.

Sa semifinal round, gipildi ni Tokong si  Tomas King sa Costa Rica sa score na 19.05 points kontra 15.30 points.

Runner up si Tokong sa miaging tuig nga gidaug ni American surfer Skip McCullough.

Gipildi ni Tokong si  McCullough sa Heat 3 sa Round 3 karong tuiga sa score nga 12.75 kontra 12.10 points.

Karong si Tokong anaa na sa ika 934 sa World Surf League (WSL) sa Men’s Qualifying Series 2019.
