BUTUAN CITY (November 6)  — The Department of Agriculture in Caraga Region (DA-13) has prepared ₱10.1 million worth of seeds and farm inputs to help farmers recover from the damage caused by Typhoon Tino.

The assistance package includes rice, corn, and vegetable seeds, as well as fertilizers and pesticides, which are currently stored at the DA regional supply hub in Barangay Taguibo, Butuan City, the agency said Tuesday.

“For now, we are waiting for the consolidated damage reports from the local governments before deployment, to ensure the aid reaches the most affected farmers,” said DA-13 Regional Executive Director Ricardo Oñate Jr.

For rice farmers, available support includes 520 bags of hybrid seeds worth ₱2.6 million, 1,907 bags of certified seeds valued at ₱1.68 million, and assorted pesticides.

Corn growers will receive 100 bags of hybrid seeds worth ₱600,000, 50 bags of fertilizer worth ₱100,000, and rodenticides.

For high-value crop producers, the DA has readied 34,000 pouches of assorted vegetable seeds worth ₱1.26 million.

Typhoon Tino brought strong winds and torrential rains that flooded low-lying farmlands and affected major rice- and corn-producing areas across Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands.
