April 16, 2021 by NewsLine Philippines

Baganga, Davao Oriental —  The Philippine National Office in Baganga town in Davao Oriental has a new home.

Governor Nelson L. Dayanghirang, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 11 BGEN Filmore Escobal, Baganga Mayor Arturo C. Monday, and Acting Provincial Director of the PNP POL LT Efren Orlina led the blessing and turnover of newly constructed Municipal Police Station building in Baganga, April 8.

The ceremony began with a ribbon-cutting, unveiling of the marker, and blessing officiated by the Regional Pastoral Officer with the presence of the distinguished guests, Vice-Mayor Ramona Olea, barangay captains, and department heads of the local government of Baganga.

In his message, BGEN Filmore Escobal thanked the provincial and municipal officials for their untiring support to the local police force by donating a lot and providing assistance for the construction of the new PNP building.

He also urged the PNP personnel to improve the delivery of services. “This new building shall be coupled with better police services to our clients. It shall boost not only the image of the PNP but also the confidence of the general public to the police,” the region’s police chief said.

On the other hand, Davao Oriental Governor Nelson Dayanghirang also expressed his joy over the turn-over of the newly-built police station and assured his unrelenting support to Baganga Municipal Police Station.

When asked to cover the fencing expenses, Governor Dayanghirang affirmed and promised to work with the municipal government to have it done.

“This is a move in the right direction in our PNP mission of building a decent and state-of-the-art facilities that our uniformed men and women deserve. It is a sense of encouragement to uplift their morale to better serve the municipality of Baganga and its people,” Governor Dayanghirang said.

Baganga Mayor Arturo C. Monday was the guest honor and speaker of the ceremony. Having donated the 1000-square meter lot for the construction of the police station, the mayor promised his support to the Baganga Police does not end there.

Mayor Monday said that with the new police station, “our peace and order situation where we and the provincial and local government, the police, the Philippine Army, and the stakeholders have worked so hard will be maintained.”-PIO/DavOr
