DIPOLOG CITY — The family of the young police officer is now questioning the result of the Covid-19 antigen taken from 27-year-old policeman who met his untimely death in a vehicular accident in Labangan town in Zamboanga del Sur province at dawn on February 14.

This after Patrolman Sanny Tajan Dacal, a resident of Tambulig town and assigned in Tambulig Municipal Police Station, died after a vehicular accident on February 14.

The Zamboanga del Sur Medical Center conducted an antigen exam on Dacal which tested positive of the Rapid Antigen Test, prompting authorities to immediately bury their loved one .

Police Major Olympus We Bas, Labangan Municipal Police Station chief, told Newsline that Dacal was driving his motorcycle under heavy rain when he lost control due to slippery road and skidded.

Bas added that Dacal was just passing Labangan, most likely on the way to Pagadian City.

The already unconscious victim was brought to Zamboanga del Sur Medical Center in Pagadian, but was pronounced dead past 2:00pm.

Dacal was also found positive of COVID-19 in a Rapid Antigen Test, and was immediately buried in accordance with the Department of Health protocols.

But Dacal was tested negative based on RT-PCR test taken by the PNP.

Because of the two different results, the family cried foul as they claim, they could have had at least had a glimpse of their bother or had set-up a necrological service had it not been because of the false report.

The family claims, the erratic result caused despair and anger among family members and relatives.
