Police arrested two suspected drug peddlers with P374K worth of Shabu in Panabo City

DAVAO CITY — Two suspected drug peddlers were apprehended in a joint anti-illegal drug operation in Panabo City on Thursday, with illegal drugs valued at P374,306 seized.

The operation was conducted by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU 11), led by Police Major Glabynarrry Murillo, in collaboration with the Panabo City Police Station.

The suspects were identified as Lanie Cabogatan Sultan, also known as “Sal,” a 34-year-old male from Lilod, Marawi City, and Alinan Ontong Sabrael, known as “Nan,” a 34-year-old male residing in Guimarang, Lanao del Norte.

During the operation, law enforcement officials confiscated a substantial amount of illegal substances from the suspects, including:

  • One heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu (buy-bust item)
  • Six heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu (possession)
  • One genuine Php1,000 bill used in the buy-bust operation
  • Twenty-nine counterfeit Php1,000 bills linked to the suspects

The total weight of the confiscated shabu was approximately 55.045 grams, with a Standard Drug Price valued at Php 374,306. Following the recovery of evidence, standard procedures were meticulously followed, including marking and inventorying the items in the presence of witnesses, as mandated by law.

A case for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of R.A. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) is currently being prepared for filing through Inquest Proceedings. This operation marks a significant step in the ongoing fight against illegal drug trafficking in the region.
