Police arrests trader for overpriced alcohol

DAVAO CITY — Police authorities here arrested a businesswoman for selling an overpriced alcohol.

Davao City Police Office Spokesperson Rose Aguilar identified the trader as a certain Chua, 38, a resident of Matina, Davao City,

Aguilar said operatives from City Investigation and Detection led by Lt. Col. Leonardo Tarongoy conducted an entrapment operation Thursday afternoon, May 7, after receiving reports of the businessman’s online business activity which include selling overpriced alcohol.

The suspect was caught red-handed by the police selling said item to an operative.

He will be charged for violating RA 10623 (Price Act) in relation to RA 11469 ( Bayanihan to Heal as one Act) Section 6 Paragraph C after selling 150ML of Band-Aid Alcohol for Php 90.00 per bottle which is against the suggested retail price of Php 36.50.

The suspect along with 20 boxes of alcohol was temporarily withheld at CIDMU office for proper disposition, while pertinent documents are now being prepared for the immediate filing of the case, Aguilar said.-JAP
