DAVAO CITY, Philippines– No “selfies” as “Security is a priority” says Police XI regional director Manuel Gaerlan as he prohibits Police officers detailed to the Miss Universe Pageant contestants.
Gaerlan instructed his personnel to ensure the safety and protection of the contestants as around 4,000 police personnel will be deployed in Davao City to provide security for pageant candidates, jurors, performers, organizers, and their relatives.
Aside from the police contingent, personnel from the Presidential Security Group will be detailed as personal security to the contestants.
“The safety personnel in Manila has already briefed the organizers in Miss Universe organization will be strict, and security arrangements will be better off as far as we are concerned,” Gaerlan said.
