DAVAO – The Philippine National Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Group, along with the security team and the Bureau of Fire Protection, quickly responded to a report of a suspicious bag left inside a trash bin located at the Monkayo Municipal Plaza.

This prompted immediate action from the authorities who discovered a bag, amid concerns that it might contain explosive materials. It was later found out that the bag held a media device.

As a result of this incident, the ongoing Asenso Sports Fest at the municipal plaza was temporarily halted. Authorities have taken this opportunity to remind the public about Presidential Decree No. 1727, commonly known as the Anti-Bomb Joke Law. This decree carries severe penalties for those caught making false bomb threats, including imprisonment.

Public safety remains a top priority, and authorities are committed to maintaining a secure environment for all residents and visitors in the area.
