December 10, 2024 by Branded content

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct emergency power interruptions on Wednesday and Saturday, December 11 and 14, affecting customers in different parts of Davao City. This is necessary to facilitate substation works at the NGCP New Loon Substation.

To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 1 hour anytime between 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 11.

Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for another 1 hour anytime between 1:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 14.

Specifically affected are customers from the corner of Gempesaw Street and Ramon Magsaysay Avenue to Leon Garcia Street, Sta. Ana Avenue to Lizada Street, Quezon Boulevard to Bolton Bridge, including Bucana, City Hall and SP Building, portions of Pichon Street, Bolton Extension, and neighboring areas.

Also affected are those from Buhangin Substation to Diho Subdivision, Cabantian Road, Buhangin Memorial to Gaisano Grand Citygate Mall and Crossing Milan, Camp Catitipan, F. Bangoy International Airport, the entire Cabantian area, Amakan, Indangan and portions of Malagamot area, portions of Mamay Road going to Diversion Road, and COA Office going to Airport View.

Customers from portions of Acacia Street from World Palace going to Ecoland Drive, Verdon Park, St. John Paul II College, Maya Street, Hall of Justice, and Candelaria Street going to Bolton Bridge will also be affected by these service disruptions.

Lastly, customers from Eden Street Maa, Pest Science to Maa Bridge and San Rafael Village Platinum Street including Datu Luho, Domsat Road, St. Michael Village, Don Julian Rodriguez Avenue, GEM Village, and portions of Maa Bypass Road and nearby areas will also be affected by these switching interruptions.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier.

However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.

Safety is of paramount importance to the company and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity area/s where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
