Guesting in the Sayron Ta! Pakigsayod radio program of PIA XI Davao del Norte, PSA Davao del  Norte Chief Statistical Specialist  Jessie Madulin said that PSA requires personal presence for the National ID.

“Magbantay sa mga fake individuals nga nagahimo ug Illegal, gamiton ang national ID system.  Ang PSA, kung pag-maparehistro sa National ID, face-to-face jud na.  Wala tay online registration sa national ID tungod kay kuhaon man ang atong biometrics: ten ka fingerprints , atong photo ug iris (eye) scan,” he said.

[Beware of fake individuals who use the national ID system to do illegal things.  The PSA, in registering for the National ID, does the process face-to-face. We don’t have online National ID registration because our biometrics will be generated: 10 fingerprints, our photo, and an iris scan.]

In a separate forum of the Information Officers Network (ION) Davao del Norte, PSA Davao del Norte Information Officer, Janine Piamonte, said PSA doesn’t call to gather personal information.

“PSA will call only to tell you that your National ID is ready for pick up,” she said.

PSA urges the public to report any calls to get the receiver’s personal information using the PSA’s name, especially since the agency’s registration for the National ID is ongoing.

PSA Davao del Norte has dispatched seven teams to reach out to communities for the national ID registration.
