COTABATO CITY — Police agents have killed in a shootout a public school teacher involved in illegal drug-peddling in Midsayap, North Cotabato on Thursday afternoon.

Lt. Col. John Miridel Calinga, Midsayap police chief, identified the slain suspect as Jake Fargo Placibe, 23, of Barangay Cabayuran, Libungan, North Cotabato.

Calinga said the suspect resisted arrest and pulled out a gun following an entrapment operation in Barangay Poblacion 8, Midsayap around 5:45 p.m., forcing the arresting team to neutralize him.

“Prior to the drug sting operation, the suspect was placed under surveillance for the past six months,” Calinga said.

Recovered from the slain suspect were 15 sachets of suspected shabu, a .38-caliber revolver, public school identification documents, a motorcycle, and the marked money. -PNA
