Secretary Locsin confronts militant protesters, ask them to punch him

DAVAO CITY —- Department of Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin went out of his office and confronted the militants protesters who were shouting outside their building Friday afternoon.

In a video posted by the College Editors Guild of the Philippines, it showed an aggressive Locsin getting from the DFA gate in Pasay City, he proceeded to the protesters and challenged them to punch him.

“Sige suntukin n’yo ako, sige suntukin nyo ako (Okay, you punch me, punch me)” Locsin told the protesters who were seemingly shocked with the gesture of the Secretary.

The militant groups led by Migrante were protesting and shouting anti-government slogans.

Locsin first explained that the government is working to safely evacuate Filipinos in some parts of the Middle East which might be affected by the tension between the United States and the Iran but the protesters hardly listened to him.

Later however, Locsin talked to one Regina Garde who claimed she is from tacloban City, who requested assistance for her sister based in Saudi Arabia whose employers allegedly refused to send her home.

The Secretary then advise his staff to get the details from Garde and vowed to contact her sister and bring her home.

During the protest, members of Migrante, Courage, and Bayan Muna urged the government for the immediate repatriation of distressed Overseas Filipino Workers in the Middle East.

Locsin said the government is doing its best to protect and secure OFWs and Filipino’s in the Middle East.
