Service disruptions on May 11 and 12 in different parts of Davao and Panabo Cities

DAVAO CITY — Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Saturday and Sunday, May 11 and 12, 2024, affecting customers in different parts of Davao and Panabo Cities.

The first set of switching power interruptions will be on Saturday, May 11 to facilitate line upgrading works in the southern part of Davao City. To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to nearby substations for 30 minutes anytime between 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. Specifically affected are those from South Pacific Estates Catalunan Pequeno to Bambu Estate Subdivision.

Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads back to their normal set-up will be for another 30 minutes anytime between 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Customers affected are those from South Pacific Estates Catalunan Pequeno to Jollibee Puan, McArthur Highway.

The second set of switching power interruptions will be on Saturday and Sunday, May 11 and 12 to facilitate line upgrading works in the northern part of Davao Light’s franchise area. To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to nearby substations for 30 minutes anytime between 11:00 p.m. on May 11 to 12:00 a.m. on May 12. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads back to their normal set-up will be for another 30 minutes anytime between 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on May 12. Specifically affected are those from Panabo City Hall, JP Laurel Avenue to Licanan, Lasang.

Lastly, a 10-hour power interruption will be conducted for the same purpose from 12:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on May 12 affecting customers in DICT, DOLE Stanfilco, and Panabo Wharf areas.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.

Safety is of paramount importance to the company and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity area/s where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
