DAVAO CITY —Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on May 25 and 27, 2024, Saturday and Monday, affecting customers in different parts of Davao City. These interruptions are necessary to facilitate the shutdown of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) Davao’s transformer 1.

To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to nearby substations for 1 hour from 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 25. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads back to their normal setup will occur for another hour from 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Monday, May 27.

Affected Areas:

  • From corner Gempesaw Street and Ramon Magsaysay Avenue to Leon Garcia Street
  • Sta. Ana Avenue to Lizada Street and parts of Bo. Obrero
  • Boulevard to Ecoland
  • Bucana, Monteverde to Villa Abrille, and neighboring areas
  • From Davao Light Maa Substation
  • Maa Road, Diversion Road to Jade Valley
  • Juliville to Tigatto, Mandug, Callawa, Indangan, and all neighboring areas

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these scheduled power interruptions and assures the public that efforts will be made to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration extends beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.

Safety is paramount, and Davao Light reminds the public to take extra precautions when passing by activity areas where line repairs and maintenance are being conducted. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.

For any power interruptions outside the given schedule, please contact our 24/7 Customer Contact Service at 229-3572, 655-3572 (Panabo), 0917-864-2793 (Globe), or 0920-970-1357 (Smart).
