Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. has announced a series of power interruptions that will occur on July 1, 2, and 3, affecting customers in Downtown, Davao City.
The scheduled power interruptions are necessary to facilitate the normalization of Gaisano Substation and conduct essential maintenance works on P. Reyes Transformer 1.
The first power interruption, lasting for 15 minutes, will occur anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on July 1, Saturday. This disruption will allow the return of loads back to their normal set-up at Gaisano Substation.
Customers in the affected areas include the portion of Diversion Road from Earth Grain to corner Jade Valley, as well as parts of the downtown area from Gaisano Substation to Aeon Tower Bajada. The service disruption will also impact portions of Guerrero Street, Uyanguren Street from Tebros Hardware to Bohol Trading, Gaisano Mall Bajada, and nearby areas.
On July 2, Sunday, a second power interruption lasting 1 hour will take place anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. This interruption is necessary to transfer loads from the affected lines to nearby substations in order to conduct maintenance works on P. Reyes Transformer 1.
Customers along C. Bangoy Street from Davao Light Office to Rizal Street Junction, including Rizal Street, Rizal Extension, Pelayo Street, Inigo Street, and nearby areas will be affected. Similarly, those along San Pedro Street from Lachmi to Pelayo Crossing, and customers along A. Pichon Street from Quirino Junction to Wisons Shopping Center and surrounding areas will also experience service disruptions.
Furthermore, customers along Quirino Avenue from DepEd Davao City Division Office to Bankerohan Bridge, as well as those along General McArthur Highway from Bankerohan Bridge to Matina Town Square, and nearby areas, will be impacted. Additionally, customers along Mabini Street from Quirino Junction to Circumferential Road, and customers in the Marfori Area including Ruby Street, Gold Street, and nearby areas, and Maa area including Eden Street, Datu Luho Street, Maa Bridge, and nearby areas will also experience service interruptions.
The normalization of loads back to their regular set-up will occur for 30 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on July 3, Monday, after the completion of maintenance works on P. Reyes Transformer 1.
Customers along C. Bangoy Street from Davao Light Office to Rizal Street Junction, including Rizal Street, Rizal Extension, Pelayo Street, and Inigo Street, along with nearby areas will be affected. Additionally, customers along San Pedro Street from Lachmi to Pelayo Crossing and those along A. Pichon Street from Quirino Junction to Wisons Shopping Center, and nearby areas will also experience a temporary service disruption.
Lastly, customers along Quirino Avenue from DepEd Davao City Division Office to Bankerohan Bridge, as well as those along General McArthur Highway from Bankerohan Bridge to Matina Town Square, and nearby areas, will be affected.
Davao Light apologizes for any inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions. The company assures the public that efforts will be made to restore electric service as planned or even earlier. However, unforeseen circumstances may arise that could extend the restoration period beyond the schedule.
