DAVAO CITY — Officers and men from the military’s 1001st Pag-asa Brigade put on smiles to 37 children with special needs when they shared Christmas Gifts eve of Christmas Day.

Led by Brigadier General Felix Ronnie B Babac, the 1001st Infantry Brigade Commander, the men and women of the said brigade donated charitable contributions to 37 children with special needs staying at Angel’s Haven Institute, Riverbank Ayala, Apokon, Tagum City, Davao del Norte, on December 24, 2023.

The Pag-asa troopers handed over a 75-inch LED TV for recreational activities, three reclining wheelchairs, two heavy-duty nebulizers with 20 nebulizing kits, and numerous toys and clothes for the children.

The donations were sourced from the proceeds of the recently concluded 1st 1001st Brigade Commander’s Cup.

The 1001st Brigade is under the 10th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army based in Davao de Oro.

Mr. Edgardo B. Requilme, the Center Head of the DSWD, highlighted that these children, due to various circumstances, are either abandoned, neglected, or diagnosed with intellectual disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders.

In his message, Babac expressed his deepest gratitude to all partner stakeholders who participated in and sponsored the 1st Commander’s Cup of the 1001st Brigade.

“Let us not forget the true meaning of Christmas—the joy of giving, the warmth of friendship, and the promise of hope. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with blessings, growth, and continued success in our noble endeavors,” Brig. Gen. Babac added.

Brig. Gen. Babac’s family also attended the activity.
