Southern part of Davao City will experience power interruptions on April 4-5, Davao Light says

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. will conduct switching power interruptions on April 4 and 5, Tuesday and Wednesday, affecting customers in the southern part of Davao City.

The first power interruption will be for 30 minutes, anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on April 4, Tuesday, to transfer the loads from the Davao Light Toril Substation to National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) Toril Substation. This is to prepare ERA Substation for maintenance works during the Holy Week.

Specifically affected are customers from Malta Medical Center going to Carabao statue near Gaisano Grand Toril and going to Bayabas Eden road and nearby areas.

Also affected are customers from Malta Medical Center going to Gaisano Grand Toril and going to Lubogan and Tagakpan Manambulan road and nearby areas.

Customers from Malta Medical Center going to UFC Dumoy, Sampaguita St., and going to near MyGas Station at Saavedra St. via De Guzman St., and nearby areas will also be affected by this service interruption.

Meanwhile, the second power interruption will be conducted for 30 minutes, anytime between 11:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. on April 4, Tuesday to transfer loads to nearby substations. The normalization or the return of loads back to their normal setup will be for 30 minutes anytime between 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m on April 5, Wednesday.

These service disruptions will be necessary to conduct line maintenance works near Catalunan Grande Road Crossing Diversion Road.

Specifically affected are customers in some parts of Bangkal from PLDT office to Collado Funeral Homes, including Taal Road, Central Park Bangkal, and neighboring areas.

Also affected are some parts of Catalunan Grande, along Catalunan Grande Road from Divine Word Missionaries to Skyline, and neighboring areas.

Additionally, for the same purpose, an eight-hour service interruption will happen from 11:00 p.m. on April 4, Tuesday, to 7:00 a.m. on April 5, Wednesday.

Specifically affected are customers in some parts of Catalunan Grande along Seminary Road, as well as those along Catalunan Grande Road from Crossing Diversion Road to Divine Word Missionaries, and neighboring areas.

Also affected are customers from Bangkal along Hope St. from Collado Funeral Homes to Diversion Road and neighboring areas.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.

Safety is of paramount importance to the company and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity area/s where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
