Davao City – The Social Security System (SSS) Davao–San Pedro Branch inaugurated a localized version of its e-center at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Region XI (BJMPRO-XI) on October 25, making SSS online services accessible to persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) in Davao Region.

SSS Vice President for Mindanao South 1 Division Mary Ellen A. Estoque and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) XI Regional Director Rufino M. Santiago, Jr. signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for this purpose, coinciding with the celebration of the National Correctional Consciousness Week.

Estoque said that the collaboration will benefit around 3,000 PDLs across the BJMP facilities in Region XI, including male and female dormitories and the annex. “Through the e-centers, PDLs can access essential SSS services such as enrolling for an SSS number, creating their My.SSS account, resetting passwords, submitting benefit applications, and other SSS online services,” Estoque added.

“The e-center at BJMP is a meaningful step toward ensuring that PDLs can now have access to SSS online services. By becoming active SSS members, they can begin planning for a more secure future despite their current circumstances,” she said.

She remarked that SSS is committed to make its services inclusive and accessible to all Filipinos, especially those who may feel isolated or overlooked, adding, “This partnership with BJMPRO-XI exemplifies our shared commitment to uplifting every member of our community, especially here in Davao City.”

Meanwhile, SSS Davao-San Pedro Branch Head Maren Eeman W. Estrella said that the branch office will continue to seek partnerships with national government agencies, barangays, informal sector groups, and private companies to deliver SSS programs that benefit and support all members, regardless of their social status or current situation.
