Switching power interruptions on January 5 in different parts of Davao City

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Sunday, January 5, 2025, affecting customers in different parts of Davao City. These must facilitate line upgrading works along Lopez Jaena Street, Poblacion District, Davao City.

To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 15 minutes anytime between 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for another 15 minutes anytime between 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Specifically affected are those from corner Ruby Street, Circumferential Road going to Brokenshire Drive, Madapo Hills, General Malvar Street, Father Selga Street up to corner San Pedro Extension Street along UBP at corner Quirino Avenue.

In connection, a 30-minute power interruption will be conducted anytime between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., affecting customers from portions of F. Torres Street from DepEd Regional Office going to the corner of Lopez Jaena Street, including portions of Tionko Avenue, J. Camus Extension from Esquina de Tavera going to the corner of F. Torres Street including portions of Araullo and Avancena Streets.

An 8-hour power interruption will also be conducted from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Specifically affected are customers from the entire Lopez Jaena Street from corner Circumferential Road up to Four Square Gospel Church, including RMC Gym, portions of V. Mapa Street from the corner of Lopez Jaena Street, portions of F. Torres Street from corner Lopez Jaena to the Rizal Memorial Colleges.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.

Safety is paramount to the company, and Davao Light reminds the public to take extra precautions when passing by activity areas where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
