TAGUM CITY – About 500 couples tied the knot together in Tagum City, Davao del Norte, the biggest mass wedding in the city’s history.

Gowns, barongs, wedding rings, photos, bouquets and make-up were given for free.

The program is an initiative of the local government through the civil registrar’s office, DSWD, Tingog Partylist, Office of the Vice Governor of Davao del Norte, and Tagum City Council of Women Foundation Inc.

Mayor Rey Uy himself officiated the wedding of 50 pairs himself.

The theme of the mass wedding is “celebrating oneness: Love is together forever.”
