Task Force Davao scores P.8-M illegal drugs during dawn inspection

DAVAO CITY –Three suspected drug couriers attempted to sneak in some P800,000 worth of illegal drugs but were arrested at the Task Force Davao checkpoint in Barangay Sirawan this city at 1:15 in the morning on June 4, 2022.

The TF-Davao personnel were conducting the mandatory inspection when they noticed one of the three suspects became restless which led the personnel to inspect the baggage inside the black Suzuki mini-van with licensed plate MAU 2355 and asked the suspects to open the travel sling bag, it was then that they discovered the illegal drugs sealed on a transparent cellophane and wrapped with a cloth, weighing 50.4 grams with an estimated market value of P806,400.00

The TF-Davao personnel and the Toril Police precinct personnel immediately arrested Ferbandoz Socrates De Gorio, 41 years old, married, a resident of Barangay Ma-a; Harsil B. Yanson, 42, married, a resident of Mandaya Village, Saloroha, Talomo; and, Joel A. Dalucanog, 49, married, a resident of Mandaya Village, Saloroha, Talomo, this city.

Colonel Darren E. Comia, commander of Task Force Davao told Newsline “It was dawn when the illegal drugs ware intercepted, our personnel remain wide awake even wee hours because we leave no room for complacency, we are duty-bound to inspect all luggage, belongings and individuals entering the even if they are residents of the city.”

Comia said, the TF-Davao is not only focused on anti-terrorism campaign but they are collaborating with other law enforcement agencies in the implementation of laws against illegal drugs and contraband.

“We cannot let our guards down,” Comia quipped as he lauded the personnel at the Sirawan Checkpoint for a job well done.

The suspects are now detained at the Toril precinct as authorities prepare the charges against them.-Paul T. Palacio
