Duterte salutes Marawi troops, vows not to forget nor abandon themPosted on
MANILA, Philippines— President Rodrigo R. Duterte Monday dawn delivered an emotional video message to the troops fighting against the ISIS terror group and the local terrorist Maute.
Duterte delivered his message at the Study Room in Malacañan Palace on July 3, 2017, the Commander-in-Chief commends the soldiers on the ground and assures them that government will provide for the needs of all the wounded soldiers and their bereaved families.
The video was posted by the government’s communication arm about 1:00 in the morning Tuesday, July 4 on its website.
Last SAturday, in his speech during the 50th founding anniversary of Davao del Sur, Duterte revealed, he wept everyone he remembers the soldiers who died in Marawi.

In his message, Duterte urged the troops to remain steadfast and alert as Martial law will remain in effect to counter the persistent threat of terror.
He urged the people of the republic to help Marawi residents “People of Marawi need your assistance as they will rebuild their lives and homes once our mil operations come to a conclusion.”
Duterte asked every citizen to continue to be vigilant “We must not let our guards down against the emergence of terrorism and banditry in the area.”
He gave thanked and salute to the fallen troops in Marawi “Let us also honor and remember fallen comrades may their courage and bravery remind us of the sacrifices asks of us as we go about the task of building a peaceful nation.”
As to date, 89 troopers have been killed in the ongoing fight.
The families of the troops were assure of the government’s support “Government assures all the wounded and bereaved families that their needs will be attended to as the the nation will never neglect the heroes of this Republic.”
In ending his message, Duterte asked Filipinos to continue serving the country.
Addressing himself to the troops in marawi, Duterte emphasized “My salute goes to all of you there, maraming salamat, maraming salamat. Mabuhay kayong Lahat hindi ko kayo kalilimutan at hindi ko kayo pababayaan (, Thank you so much, thank you so much, long live eveyone.
