Investigators review CCTV footages of Isulan bombingPosted on
DAVAO CITY (September 6) — Investigators are now reviewing the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) footages showing a suspect planting a homemade bomb inside an internet café which killed two persons and wounded 15 others in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat last Sunday, September 2.
Town Mayor Marites Pallasigue told Newsline.ph, “The investigators, the police and other agencies are reviewing the CCTV footages which will help us identify the suspects.”
She said they immediately secure the footage which has a 360-degree CCTV camera that could capture the inside of the entire area but was reported non-functional even before the blast.
The Philippines National Police provincial command is now under the care of the Philippine National Police Cybercrime Unit for evaluation.
“Pumasok ang suspect sa Internet Cafe’ after putting the bomb, umalis kaagad,” Pallasigue revealed.
With the challenges that her municipality is facing, Pallasague remained strong and firm, as she asked her constituents to do their share in securing their municipality.
Pallasigue has appealed to business establishment owners in her municipality to install CCTV cameras for the security of their establishments and clients as well.
Pallasigue said the people of Isulan remain “united” in their stand against terrorism, even as she dismissed claims by the Islamic State-linked Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF)–the group suspected of being behind the bombing–that the attacks were perpetrated by government forces.
Brigadier General Cirilito Sobejana, the Army’s 6th Infantry Division commander, said the bombings were diversionary tactics of the BIFF to avenge heavy losses due to relentless military campaign against them in Maguindanao.
